Transformers more than meets the eyes. The Autobots are the good, human-friendly group of robots led by Optimus Prime. The Decepticons are the evil counterparts intent on taking power for themselves and who care little for human life. The Decepticons are led by Megatron. The two fight each other in a race to seize a powerful cube called The All Spark. The movie diverged on several points from the original cartoons. For example in the movie Megatron transforms into a jet as opposed to a gun as in the original cartoons. And how could they leave out Soundwave who was Megatron's right hand man? That was disappointing. The biggest disappointment about this movie was the lack of an interesting plot. This often made the movie drag without any purpose or story. For example at Sam's house why is it that the scene where Sam searches for his grandfather's glasses must last a lengthy 10 minutes? It's 10 minutes worth of no action but lots of unfunny verbal exchanges between Sam, the Autobots, and Sam's parents. It's like the screenwriters did not have a story so maybe felt compelled to fill up the movie with something, anything even. And at the end of the movie when the Autobot Bumblebee finally speaks, why in the world does he have the voice of an English butler!? It's so ridiculous. And it's so far fetched how the Decepticon who at the start of the movie single handedly wiped out an entire army, gets wiped out in the end by a mere handful of soldiers with rifles. Get a story please!!...and at least try and make it somewhat credible. Disappointing.
